Unable to Open Active Users and Computers – Naming information cannot be located

A short one. It is possible that you have encountered a problem where you are unable to access the Active Directory Users and Computers console. Nothing worked whether you attempted to open the console as an administrator or in any other way.

The error message would be
Naming information cannot be located because:
The user name or password is incorrect.
Contact your system administrator to verify that your domain is properly configured and is currently online.

Solution

You may have a session that are a number of days old on the VM you are opening the console from. All you need to do is to log off and log back in and the issue should go away.
