I was configuring a Win & catalog for one of my customers and first noticed the issue when i tried joining the server to the domain. the domain joining process failed saying that the domain controller couldn’t be reached.
Tried tried pining the DC server and what I saw was surprising. I have never seen that error before and the message is below which puzzled me.
I looked at the NIC connections on the VM and the IP was assigned by DHCP. I ran an IP config /all which gave me the below result. Guess what, the Default gateway was missing.
I manually added the IP on the NIC with the Default Gateway and DNS servers. That was the fix. i tried pinging other servers in the network and all good.
So there you go. I hope this helps someone.
